Sonnet to Sleep

Intimacy is contagious, love
We take it for granted,
Think of our
Intently kind blanket,
Often punched pillow.
Close,
Like you.

Away, you seem to be sailing
In your ship of dreams.
Awake, alive in that ship
On daily roads.
Around, breathing deep.

We treat intimacy,
Too lightly.
Think of it without.
